For those of you who are considering making a move, whether you’re a local or transplant, today I’ll discuss what it’s like to live on Lake Murray. I’ve personally lived in the area since 2014, and my team and I have become the best agents in the area. The lake itself is huge—around four miles wide and 40 miles long, Lake Murray has 700+ miles of shoreline and is 200 feet deep at its deepest point. The lake is used to generate power for nearby Columbia.
If you’re a fan of the Gamecocks, the University of South Carolina isn’t far away. For those who enjoy the great outdoors, Lake Murray is within driving distance of both the Appalachian Mountains and the coast. Charleston, Beaufort, and Hilton Head are just a couple of hours away.

Living on Lake Murray is like being on vacation all year-round. The weather is great for much of the year, and when I get home from work, I can just hop on my boat and take to the water. Of course, it’s a big fishing lake where you can find stripers, largemouth bass, and catfish. We even recently hosted the Fishing League Worldwide tournament here. Activities aren’t limited to just fishing; you can find many communities here, from golf courses to country clubs and much more.
