Before you buy a lakefront property, there are a couple of tips to keep in mind.
If you’re thinking of buying a lakefront home out on Lake Murray, there are a couple of things you need to keep in mind before moving forward.
First, decide what’s most important to you. What are you looking for in a lakefront home? Is it the proximity to Columbia? The view? Having a private dock? The lake, itself?
After you answer these questions and get your priorities in order, you have to be willing to compromise on the ones that aren’t as important. No Lake Murray home will score a perfect 10 in each category.
First, decide what’s most important to you.
After that, decide whether you want a shared or private dock. You don’t have to have a dock, but if you want one, you need to pick between these two options.
There are a variety of other factors you need to consider before making the move to purchase a lakefront home, so as a bonus tip, make sure your agent is experienced in closing on these types of properties.
That being said, I love helping people buy lakefront homes, and I’d be happy to take you out on my boat and give you a guided tour to see what’s available if you’re ready to own one, yourself.
Also, if you’re thinking of selling a lakefront home, I’d be happy to help you get the listing process started.
