Here’s what you should consider before looking for a home to purchase.
Are you thinking about purchasing a home? If so, congratulations! Homeownership is a fantastic way to build wealth. However, the process can be overwhelming. Here are a few things you should consider when purchasing a home:
1. What is your budget? You should know your upper budget at the very least. In my opinion, you shouldn’t stretch the top of your budget, or you’ll end up with an expensive house and not much else.
2. Location is critical. How far away are you willing to commute to work? What are the schools like in the area? School areas are important even if you don’t have children since quality education will improve your home’s resale value. On a similar note, properties close to airports or highways will have a lower resale value.

3. You can’t get everything you want. One of the biggest mistakes I see from buyers is they want everything to be a 10. In other words, they want the best location, quality, price, and resale value without giving anything up. Unfortunately, this just isn’t possible. The key to finding your dream home is prioritizing what you want.
4. Make sure you’re using a great agent. As long as you’re working with someone who has their finger on the pulse of the market, the buying process should go smoothly. They can help you negotiate a great deal and sort through properties that fit your criteria.
